Habit OPCO provides services to individuals addicted to opiates. It is our goal to help patients achieve a stable,
productive life, free from substance abuse. Daily administration of medicine is combined with regular counseling, medical
services, drug screening, HIV/AIDS education, case management and other services.
All individuals seeking treatment will be assessed by medical and clinical staff for appropriateness for treatment and
treatment planning.
Individuals entering treatment in any Habit OPCO Program can expect:
- An extensive intake process, both medical and clinical.
- Education regarding methadone, administration of daily medication and an assessment period conducted by the nursing staff to help individuals achieve stability.
- Orientation groups that provide education to new patients in areas of program policy, HIV/AIDS information, medical issues and addiction / recovery information.
- Individual and/or group counseling, family counseling, as indicated. In conjunction with their primary or group counselor, all individuals will develop goals to work on in the form of an Individual Treatment Plan.
- Random monthly or biweekly drug screening
- Medical follow-up and an annual appointment with the Medical department. Medical problems will be identified, prescribed medications will be monitored and referrals will be made for medical treatment as needed.
- After a period of stability, individuals on methadone maintenance treatment can apply for 'take home' doses of medication if they meet specific eligibility criteria.
