General Information

Habit OPCO is one of the largest accredited healthcare organizations in New England providing multi-disciplinary treatment services on an outpatient basis to individuals addicted to drugs enabling them to function normally in society.

Habit OPCO commenced operations in Boston, Massachusetts in January 1986. Today, we are providing treatment services at 16 different sites throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Individuals who seek treatment at Habit OPCO are everyday people struggling to overcome addictions. They have families, friends, jobs, hobbies and dreams. They come from all walks of life and age groups. All of the patients treated at Habit OPCO come here voluntarily, out of a desire to receive treatment to improve their lives.

Patients eligible for admission are first medically evaluated by a licensed physician who prescribes a treatment plan in collaboration with a clinician who assists in carrying out the plan by providing counseling and related support in addition to the nursing care provided. Over time, a great number of our patients experience dramatic improvement in their quality of life due in large part to our care and commitment.

Accreditation and Licensing

Habit OPCO is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, State of New Hampshire (Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Recovery) Vermont Department of Health and at the federal level, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. .

Three of Habit OPCO's programs were among the first in the nation to receive the highest level of accreditation possible-a full three-year accreditation-after participating in a voluntary pilot survey process by an independent accrediting body, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities ("CARF"). Currently, all of Habit OPCO's programs that have received accreditation surveys have earned a full three-year accreditation.
